Spend five hours in Kampung Serendah, a peaceful Temuan village near Kuala Lumpur, trekking, sharing lunch and meeting the community with the help of Native Hosts.

As you hike through scenic Bukit Beruang, the hosts, a mix of elders and younger members, share traditional stories and insights into a way of life whose history stretches back to colonial times. A highlight is authentic Temuan food prepared by local cooks, with flavours passed down through generations.

The Native Hosts are passionate about preserving and sharing their traditions. Whether you're hiking, eating or listening to stories, it is an accessible, intimate way to connect with Malaysia's indigenous culture.

Experience Details

  • Location: Serendah, Selangor
  • Duration: 5 hours
  • Ages: 12 and above (children aged 5–12 are welcome with adult supervision)
  • Translator: the first group (4–10 participants) includes one Malay/English translator; additional translators are RM200 each, and each can cater for 8–10 participants

Safety and Fitness

Safety is a priority. The Bukit Beruang trail is moderate, with some uneven terrain, so comfortable footwear and basic fitness are recommended. No specialised experience is needed. The local guides mainly speak Malay and may understand basic English, so some Malay is helpful.

Getting There

  • Private transport can be arranged on request from RM550 (return trip from KL or within Selangor), depending on the number of passengers
  • The kampung offers motorbike rides to and from KTM Serendah station at RM20 per person each way; ride with caution

  • Depending on the destination country and customs clearance, your order can take between 1-2 weeks to arrive. We will send you a tracking number so you can check on your shipment.
  • Customs or import duties are charged once the parcel arrives at destination country.
