The Sea Monkey Project was born from a homeschooling lesson on the high seas, when an Australian family living aboard a sailboat witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of plastic pollution on our oceans and the communities that depend on them.

Stopping in Malaysia, they turned their concern into action, building plastic upcycling machines and sending them to village communities across South East Asia and beyond. SMP has since built over 200 machines, reached 26+ countries, and educated thousands of young people and members of the public on sustainability and the power of taking action.
