Becoming Malaysia’s First B CorpTM & Fair Trade Certified Social Enterprise
After going through a rigorous audit process of almost 2 years, Earth Heir is B Corp certified! We are immensely proud to be the only organisation in Malaysia which is BOTH Fair Trade and B Corp certified, taking our ethical and sustainability journey one step further. So, what does that really mean?
B Corp certification: Meeting high standards of social and environmental impact
B Corp Certification means that a company has been verified as meeting B Lab’s high standards for:
- social and environmental impact
- a legal commitment to stakeholder governance
- and that it is demonstrating accountability and transparency by disclosing this record of performance in a public B Corp profile
Basically it is the world's leading measure on how consciously a business conducts itself. Earth Heir has met the credible, independent and verifiable standards of social and environmental performance in all these areas:

- Workers
- Community
- Customers
- The Environment

Being a Fair Trade brand
Earth Heir is also certified by the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) as a Fair Trade brand that essentially puts the interests of workers and artisans first!
The WFTO Guarantee System (GS) combines Fair Trade and social enterprise verification into one. It is built to verify that an enterprise is mission-led, focused on the interests of its producers, and this is in the structure, systems and practices of the enterprise.
The 10 Principles of Fair Trade specify the ways that Fair Trade Enterprises are set up and behave to ensure they put people and planet first. The WFTO carries out verification and monitoring to ensure these principles are upheld.
Keeping up the good work
By certifying as a B Corp organisation, Earth Heir will need to undergo the assessment and verification process every three years, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining sustainability and fair trade principles.

We’ve been working with expert craftspeople and artisans for over 9 years, providing training and livelihoods for the communities we engage with, all the while practicing fair trade principles.
As Earth Heir continues to innovate and improve on our journey to sustainability and fair trade, we aim to develop stronger external relationships — with community members, vendors, suppliers, peers, and more. Furthermore, we hope to serve as leaders in the movement that’s transforming our global economic system to benefit all people, communities, and the planet; and to spread the word across more organisations on the benefits of practicing what is simply good business.
